Tubal Reversal Success Rates Part 1

After many years of collecting objective information and analyzing it, our data show that tubal reversal surgery, when performed at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center, has a higher success rate than in vitro-fertilization.

Approximately 7 out of 10 women become pregnant after tubal reversal surgery here. Of course the pregnancy rate varies and depends on factors such as age and type of tubal sterilization. Younger women have higher pregnancy rates and older women have lower pregnancy rates, just as among women who haven't had their tubes tied and reversed.

The clip, (Hulka clip or Filshie clip) are the best methods of sterilization in terms of reversal because they damage the least amount of the fallopian tube. For women under 30 who have had clip sterilizations, we know that 90% or more will become pregnant after they have their tubal reversal performed here.

It's interesting too that the when we talk about a pregnancy rate it really doesn't take into account the fact that many couples will have more than one pregnancy. That's another advantage of tubal reversal compared with IVF that pregnancies will happen naturally and the women can become pregnant more than once.
