Dr. Berger: Where's the ruler? Let's put it next to the ruler. That's how long it is, one and a half centimeters. We don't have an inch ruler do we? And this is how wide it is, about two to three millimeters in length. See once it's closed you can't open it again. It starts opend but it closes and it's got a jaw at the end that locks it. This top side is a spring that goes around the opening. So it starts open like this and then when it shuts, you know the spring and the lock jaw keep it closed. So anything in there, the blood gets cut off and basically dies. This gets covered over with peritoneum and the sides of the tube are right next to it.
